Kamapuaa vs. the Mac Mini White Screen of Death

So after my venerable linux box shuffled off this mortal coil last month, I decided that it was time to get a new system for work. After looking through newegg.com for a while, it struck me: I *hate* PC hardware. With this in mind, I headed down to the local Apple retailer and picked up a shiny new Mac Mini.

After some initial transition pains (mainly involving the screen and keyboard sharing software synergy), I had about a month of userland bliss. Then one day, I came in to work and was greeted by a white screen.

Oh dear.
